Directed and managed the global user experience design team (across Sunnyvale, London and Taipei) for community products at Yahoo!, including Groups, Answers, Delicious, as well as various Yahoo!-wide components and services: universal header, sharing controls, social widgets.

Principal Interaction Designer for Yahoo! Mail, October 2004 – April 2009
Interaction Design Lead for the first AJAX-based version of Yahoo! Mail. Created and defined the interaction model for Yahoo! Mail, including the tabbing system and all core behaviors. Designed the majority of new Yahoo! Mail features, including chat/SMS integration, social features, and a single unified address book.

Bandcamp, Inc.
Design Consultant, 2008 - 2011
Design desktop browser and mobile experiences, working directly with the CEO/Founder. Generated wireframes and flows for Bandcamp album and track pages.

AOL Corp.
Principal Designer, December 2001 – October 2004
Lead UI Designer for AOL’s first non-immersive client, AOL Communicator (for Windows and Mac OSX). Managed and lead design team for Mail, Address Book, and RSS-Reader applications to a follow-on product.

Palm Inc.
Design Consultant, Summer 2001
Responsible for conceptualizing, refining and designing new Palm OS PIM features through collaboration with engineers and development managers. Charged with writing design documents and functional specifications.

Cranite Systems Inc.
Design Consultant, Summer - Fall 2001
Designed a Web-based network administration/security tool, and Windows-based client. Responsible for design schedule and creation of user interface prototypes (graphics and DHTML prototypes).

Sr. UI Designer, March 2000 – May 2001
Designed for diverse products in the ACT! product line, including Palm OS, Web-based applications, Palm Query Applications and Microsoft Windows.

Brio Technology Inc. (now part of Hyperion)
Sr. UI Designer, February 1999 – March 2000
Prototyped and designed Web-based applications and new cross-platform features for the business intelligence division. Spearheaded and co-designed the company’s first formal specification process

Palm Inc.
Program Manager/User Interface Designer, January 1998 – February 1999
Managed program efforts for Palm Desktop for the Mac, leading engineers and QA while working closely with marketing and product teams. In this dual role, I also designed the installer and a detailed database field- mapping scheme for the product.

Symantec Corp.
User Interface Designer, October 1995 - January 1998
Designed applications and feature areas for the ACT product group. Wrote the functional specifications. Worked with development, marketing, SQA, documentation and management groups to evaluate designs. Conducted extensive usability testing.
